Buddy is the name of the puppy who was suddenly thrown out of the window of a moving car in 2016.
The driver behind could not believe his eyes when he saw that it was not an object but a living creature lying in the middle of a busy highway.
Buddy’s risky rescue
It’s really not advisable to suddenly slam on the brakes on a busy highway.
But when the driver realized that a small puppy was lying on the road, he couldn’t do anything else, as he later reported.
He stopped his car and had to put up with honking horns and hand signals to collect the seriously injured puppy.
Forgetting his own schedule, he drove the poor guy to the nearest animal hospital. There he was immediately transferred to the intensive care unit by the doctors treating him.
Buddy had to spend a whole six weeks in hospital. Pain and mistrust of humans dominated the first six weeks.
Buddy recovers and regains courage
It took time for Buddy to start trusting his carers and nurses and to be willing to meet them and let them stroke him.
No wonder, when you know his story. His fateful experiences in his puppyhood are also known to his new family.
They love him, even though it may take some time before he can fully open his heart to them.
He is on the right track and shows more and more every day that he is beginning to trust his surroundings again, to relax and also to play and show his cheerful disposition.
