A large adoption event takes place at an animal shelter in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. An incredible number of people come to support the shelter and the animals.
At the end of the event, 203 animals have found a new, loving home. So many dogs, cats and guinea pigs finally have a family.
Every dog has found happiness – except for one.
He remains lonely and alone
At the end of the day, all the dogs cuddle happily with their new family, settle in and discover everything. Their lives take a turn for the better.
But one dog is left behind. Little Kenny is now all alone and sadly waiting for him to find a family too.
He has a wonderful and lively character. Kenny loves to run around and play. He looks at everyone with a beaming doggy smile.
Everyone falls in love with him immediately. So it’s all the more surprising that he, of all people, is overlooked by everyone.
„Kenny is a funny, friendly and happy dog,“
says Casey Waugh, who is responsible for communications and annual donations at Wayside Waifs, adding:
„He’s definitely a people dog! Yesterday, a volunteer took him for a walk. The volunteer described him as ‚a dream‘. They went for ice cream, visited a nearby park/lake where Kenny waded in the water, and then stopped by a local pet store where he made friends with all the employees.“
Hope for a better future
To comfort him a little, he is showered with love from the shelter staff. He gladly accepts it and clearly enjoys the special treatment.
But the big dream of a home of his own, where he really belongs, is still a long way off. The staff do everything they can to place the adorable four-legged friend.
And their persistence pays off.
A woman finds the forgotten dog and falls in love with him. Kenny is now in his new home and has wonderful adventures with his new owner.
