It was a day like any other. Andrew drove his tow truck, passing by a stretch of brown leaves and blackberry bushes.
So far, everything was normal. But suddenly he spotted something unusual.
Could it really be?
He could have sworn he recognized a small face among the sticks and leaves ..
Andrew stopped his car

He went to the spot in question and sure enough, there was a small, brown dog lying in the woods.
Andrew quickly took a photo before the dog ran off again. He posted it on his Facebook account and sent it to Lost Dogs of Fort Wayne.
Andrew hoped that someone would recognize the dog in the picture.
Together they set out to find him

It wasn’t long before the owner of the Lost Dogs of Fort Wayne Facebook account and another concerned dog lover were out in the woods.
They set off together in search of the dog in the photo.
One by one, more compassionate people showed up to help.
By joining forces, the group finally discovered the little dog on the other side of a stream.
They brought the dog to the rescue center

At the Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control rescue center, the little dog, now named Joey, received the medical care he needed.
„When we heard how many people were stepping up to save Joey, it gave us a lot of hope,“
delaney Atkinson of Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control Community Outreach Educator told The Dodo.
At first, Joey was a little lethargic, but when they gave the puppies something to play with, he really thawed out.
Over the weeks, his health and mental state improved more and more.
The puppy put a smile on everyone’s face

„Despite everything he’s been through, Joey has been a constant light of joy,“ Atkinson told The Dodo.
One day, a dog lover discovered a post about Joey on the shelter’s Facebook page.
She had a feeling and just had to visit him.
Luckily, she listened to her gut instinct, because the woman and Joey were immediately one heart and one soul.
Today, Joey lives happily with his new owner and has even got a dog and two cats as siblings.
Now he never has to feel alone again.
