A man is paddling his kayak through the countryside when he suddenly hears a wild howl on a deserted island.
He paddles towards the island and can’t believe what he sees as he gets closer.
Exposed to die!

There is a small dog on the island, which has probably been abandoned to die there.
Fernando, the kayaker, is heartbroken by the dog’s distressing and agonizing barking.
So he decides to try his luck and docks on the island. At first, the fearful four-legged friend hides, but Fernando speaks to him reassuringly.
Soon after the dog dares to come out, it becomes clear that this is a trusting family dog.
Fernando is certain that he has been abandoned and that the little barker would not have survived much longer.
Dog is afraid of the water

Fernando heads back to the beach and the neglected dog stays faithfully by his side. Only when it’s time to go kayaking does he flinch.
In his YouTube video, Fernando describes how much the four-legged friend struggles with himself. He clearly wants to stay with Fernando, but is terrified of the water!
It doesn’t help that the kayak, that stupid thing, just won’t give up:
„As soon as he puts his paw on the kayak, he pushes the kayak away and gets a fright because it moves.“
Fernando tries for a long time with patience and calm, but eventually he has to decide on a different approach.
Fernando forces the dog to be happy

Without further ado, he sits down in the kayak and calls the dog over. This time, when the furry friend touches the kayak with his paw, Fernando snaps.
He heaves the very unhappy dog onto the kayak, knowing that this is the only way to save him.
And indeed: the dog whimpers, but remains still with a little help and so the journey begins.
When the rescuer and the rescued dog come ashore again, animal rescue is quickly called and it’s off to the animal hospital!
Five days later, Fernando visits his protégé, now called Jack, at the clinic and can’t believe how much the little rascal has changed in just a few days.
To his great delight, Jack recognizes Fernando and covers him with a series of grateful and sticky dog kisses.
For Fernando, it is pure happiness to know that he has saved a life.
