Mya, the kidnapper
The six-year-old dog has discovered a new hobby for herself: She goes looking for turtles in the garden.
As soon as she finds one, she carefully picks it up and carries it towards the house.
Her owner, 19-year-old student Rachel Laposka from Sharpsburg, Georgia, catches the repeat offender one day. She films the scene and publishes it on TikTok, where the video goes viral.
Mya does not give up her prisoner voluntarily
The video shows Mya positioning herself in front of the front door with a turtle and waiting for the door to be opened for her.
Rachel tries to persuade her four-legged friend to let go of the kidnapped turtle, but no chance!
Amused, Rachel notices that Mya obviously wants to be let in first and does her the favor. But when the dog runs straight to the other end of the room, the tone becomes more serious.
Amusement turns to bitter seriousness
„Give me the turtle! Spit it out! Mya, spit it out!“
Only when Rachel’s tone becomes stricter and she emphasizes every single word does Mya finally deign to let go of the turtle.
The animal seems unharmed, but is probably delighted to have regained its freedom. Whether it will make friends with Mya, however, is questionable after the kidnapping ..
