Trixie, Cooper and Bruno have been living on a garbage dump for some time. When they are rescued, they are immediately taken to the vet.
Unfortunately, it is discovered that all three have suffered injuries. The same operation has to be carried out on all three of them.
The mattress in the scrapyard
When three dogs are spotted huddled together on a rotten mattress in a scrapyard, the Ruff Start Rescue team come to the rescue.
No one can tell how long the three strays had been living in the dump, but it was obvious that they were warming and protecting each other.
On the very first day of the rescue operation, Trixie and Bruno were brought to the shelter to finally experience warmth and safety.
Cooper , however, initially resisted the rescue and well-meaning help. His mistrust and fear of people was too great.
Only briefly united
When Cooper was finally rescued from the scrapyard and brought to the animal shelter, it seemed likely that he had only jumped into the animal rights activists‘ van because he missed his friends.
A health check of the three dogs revealed that they were not only weakened but also injured and each of the four-legged friends had to have one of their legs amputated.
The three friends were only together for a short time in the veterinary clinic and animal shelter. Three families were quickly found who wanted to take in, care for and adopt the dogs.
Update
The Ruff Start Rescue organization keeps its fans and donors up to date via Facebook. They posted an update on Cooper’s progress.
Readers then asked how the other two dogs had fared. Cooper’s new family began to investigate and organized a meeting with the help of Ruff Start Rescue.
Emotional pictures
All three dogs settled in well with their families and overcame their fears. They were probably only so shy because they were injured, which led to the amputations.
The dogs were visibly very happy when they saw each other again.
Even though they can now sleep in warm dog beds with their families, they will probably remember their time together on the mattress.
The three adoptive families have now agreed to meet again and stay in touch.
Cooper’s adoptive family told reporters that everyone can see how happy and content the dog is now.
But this would be nothing compared to the happiness they themselves feel because they have found Cooper and integrated him into their lives!
