A lonely pit bull named Zeus has been living at the Spartanburg Humane Society shelter for over three years, eagerly awaiting his perfect family.
But despite the long wait for his loving humans, he has found an unusual source of comfort.
The unusual passion of a special dog
In his loneliness, he finds solace in something very unusual: empty milk cartons.
While most dogs have a penchant for squeaky toys, for Zeus it’s these milk cartons that bring him joy.
Over time, Zeus has become a favorite of the shelter team. He has won their hearts by storm.
The volunteers appreciate his company, enjoy spending time with him and often take him on outings, for example to Starbucks.
Zeus has made such an impression that Kaki Taylor, a volunteer at the Spartanburg Humane Society, even buys extra milk cartons to bring to the shelter.
„I’ve started drinking more milk lately so I have extra cartons of milk to bring to the shelter,“
she explains to The Dodo.
A shy dog with a big heart – Zeus‘ search for a loving home
But although Zeus is popular with the shelter staff, he is still looking for a home. He is a little shy at first and needs time to build up trust.
Once overcome, however, he is a lovable companion.
Zeus would do best in a home without other pets and would be happy to live with an active adult or older teenager.
He longs for a life outside of the shelter and is looking forward to taking his milk cartons to his new home.
Zeus is ready for a life full of love and affection.
He has lived in a kennel long enough and deserves to finally find a family who will give him what he craves so much.
