Lonely and abandoned, a small, fluffy „something“ sat in a transport container waiting for someone to rescue it.
By now the sun had set and the temperatures were dropping – it was getting bitterly cold and the falling snow was piling up more and more on the roof of the transport box.
Animal rescue was on its way
The furry friend had long since given up hope that someone would find her – but then suddenly a wet nose pushed through the snow!
A dog who was walking his owner picked up a strange smell and wanted to show his owner what he had found there.
The woman became curious and looked – but was shocked by what she finally saw!
She looked out of the snow with wide eyes
Lonely and abandoned, a cat lay in its transport box under the blanket of snow and looked at the woman with its big eyes, completely shocked.
The woman immediately took the poor cat home with her and then asked for help for the rescued animal on Facebook.
She was soon contacted by the Home at Last Rescue animal welfare organization.
„My heart sank when I realized how cold and snowy it was outside,“
stephanie Niro-Pisani, executive director of Home at Last, told The Dodo in horror.
„I couldn’t imagine how anyone could do this to an animal, let alone their own cat … If it wasn’t for this woman and her dog, she probably wouldn’t have survived the night.“
Safe at last
The Home at Last animal welfare workers named the cat Paisley and later took her to Bayview Animal Hospital, where she was thoroughly examined and cared for.
The kitten was very anxious and visibly nervous – Paisley had never met so many people at once before.
Gradually, however, the kitten relaxed as she realized that nobody wanted to hurt her and that she was safe here.
From then on, her true, wonderful personality came out.
In search of a forever home
„Her true colors came out when she was brought to a foster home. Not only is she a very sweet and gentle cat – she’s also playful and confident,“
stephanie tells The Dodo about the kitten.
For now, Paisley is enjoying her relaxed life in her new foster home until she is ready for adoption in a few weeks‘ time.
„Her future will undoubtedly be wonderful. After all she has been through and how she was let down by her previous family, we will make sure her family really is forever.“
