What a sad fate for the dog Nirvana – because she was simply left to fend for herself..
One day, her family took her to a car wash and left her there . All they gave the poor dog was a blanket and some food – from then on she was completely on her own.
„She was just so exhausted from waiting“
The dog curled up on her blanket, which was lying on the empty property, and waited longingly for her family to return.
She lay there for two days, never giving up hope that her beloved humans would return after all.
Workers at the car wash quickly became aware of the four-legged friend when they saw her sleeping on the kerb.
Eventually Nirvana’s food supply ran out, so the workers put a new bag out for her – she was so hungry and ate the food immediately!
Her day consisted of nothing but sleeping. She slept for almost two days, the waiting was just too exhausting.
Finally rescue came for Nirvana
The employees at the car wash could no longer stand to watch the poor, sad dog suffer, so they called Suzette Hall, founder of the animal welfare organization Logan’s Legacy, for help
When Suzette arrived, Nirvana didn’t react to her at all at first – she was simply still far too tired and exhausted from waiting for the last few days.
The animal rescuer slowly approached the dog, as she didn’t want to frighten her. At some point, Nirvana noticed Suzette and stood up.
Although they didn’t know each other, the dog greeted her rescuer in a friendly manner. „I put her on a lead and she wiggled her bottom. She knew that someone had come to rescue her,“ Suzette reported.
Trip to the vet
The first trip took the rescued dog to the vet, where she was given a much-needed bath. „It just washed away the sadness and everything else ,“ said Suzette.
When she arrived at the veterinary clinic, all the staff were immediately delighted with sweet Nirvana – although they deal with animals on a daily basis, this dog was very special to them.
Nirvana was given her own kennel, which was set up just for her – the staff did everything they could to make the dog feel as comfortable as possible so that she could recover quickly.
Although she was doing well medically, she was suffering from a broken heart, which would soon heal.
A new home
A few days later, a foster home was found where Nirvana was taken in – here she could finally forget her sad past and start all over again.
„Her foster mother just loves her. She totally cuddles with her foster mother at night,“ Suzette reported happily.
But Nirvana not only loves to cuddle, but also to go on long walks and hikes with her new favorite human.
The dog, who was sadly lying on the street just a few days ago, is now blossoming and has found her zest for life again.
Nirvana is still looking for a home where she can stay for life – but until then, the dog is having a really good time in her foster home.
