Some friendships last a lifetime. Little Chihuahua Tiny Tim and his brother Big Ben, a Pyrenean mountain dog, had just such a friendship.
The two met in 2016 and when Tim joined Ben’s family as a foster dog, they hit it off straight away.
Through thick and thin together
„I went into the living room several times a day and saw Tim sleeping soundly on Ben,“
said Jenny Leech, the couple’s mother, to The Dodo.
Even though the two were visually like the North and South Poles, this difference in size did nothing to change the intimate friendship between the two.
For six wonderful years, Tim and Ben spent every spare second together. Whether they were sleeping together or playing together, they were simply inseparable.
Dog couple makes people smile
Jenny loved the way the two dogs interacted with each other. She knew that she would put a smile on other people’s faces with this unlikely duo.
That’s why she set up social media accounts for them and recorded Tim and Ben’s lives there.
They soon had more than 10,000 followers.
Ben was already seven years old when Tim became his best friend. Shortly afterwards, the gentle giant began to have movement problems. Tim noticed this too.
„I think Tim noticed that Ben had changed. Instead of climbing over him, Tim became gentler and was just happy to sleep next to him or sit with him.“

Tim loses his best friend
At the age of 13, Ben suffered a stroke. Nothing could be done to help him. And so his family had to say goodbye to him with a heavy heart.
Jenny shared this story on Tim and Ben’s social media channels – and the condolences were not long in coming.
A woman decided to send Tim a giant stuffed animal to help him get over the loss of his big brother.
Stuffed dog becomes a new brother
As soon as he saw the stuffed dog, Tim immediately lay down on its back and fell asleep. Jenny decided to leave the dog on the sofa.
„It really was just like the good old days of Tim and Ben. Tim was even in almost the same position.“
