Jimbo’s story proves once again how little appreciation some people have for their dogs and how a good dog’s soul can still be full of love for two-legged friends.
After Jimbo was abandoned in Hungary and had a terrible time on the street, you would think that he would prefer to avoid people – but the opposite is the case.
But although he is such a friendly dog boy, he has been waiting in vain for a home for some time now.
This is Jimbo
Jimbo is a big dog with an even bigger heart. His shoulder height is around 58 centimetres and he weighs around 35 kilograms.
At eight years old, he is no longer one of the youngest dogs, but you wouldn’t know it from looking at him.
After he was nursed back to health, his energy and zest for life have returned and he loves to be physically active.
When the helpers at the shelter approached his kennel, Jimbo was always beside himself with joy and jumped around like a bouncy ball.
Attention, affection, activity and, above all, love – these are the things that the big cuddly bear longs for, but which he has unfortunately had to do without all his life.
Jimbo loves to be close to his carers, is loyal and wants to be cuddled a lot.
He also shows his good-natured nature when he meets other dogs. Jimbo always remains friendly and simply does not react at all if he is mobbed.
He is a little afraid of fast or unexpected movements and loud voices and reacts submissively when spoken to energetically.
Although he is so big and strongly built, he has a sensitive core and his self-confidence can still be improved.
Jimbo’s story
Based on Jimbo’s behaviour, the animal welfare officers assume that he already knows how to live with people, i.e. that he had an owner.
However, it was apparently an unloving person who abandoned Jimbo and had previously treated him badly.
Jimbo’s submissiveness and fear of sudden movements indicate that the poor chap was mistreated.
The fact that he still loves people and believes in goodness is testament to his radiantly beautiful personality.
Believing in goodness, Jimbo went to a car wash in Hungary with the last of his strength and asked the staff for help.
This time, he found some nice people, because they called the animal rescue centre. So Jimbo was taken to an animal shelter, where he was nursed back to health, and finally to a boarding kennel in Germany.
There he is now eagerly hoping to finally be noticed and find his forever family.
The perfect home for Jimbo
Jimbo needs a lot of love. He wants to be close to his humans, have lots of cuddles and do great activities with them.
This sweet, giant baby is looking for very sensitive two-legged friends with whom he feels absolutely safe and who will gently hold him by the paw so that he can gain more self-confidence.
There should be no hustle and bustle or loud voices in his home, and this sensitive cuddly bear should certainly not be scolded. Punishment is of course also taboo.
This sweet puppy still has a lot to learn and would like an understanding, patient upbringing with positive reinforcement.
Because of his size, his humans should be stable, as he also wants to work on his ability to walk on a lead.
Jimbo would like to be a loyal friend and companion through thick and thin for his new family. Will you fulfil this dream for him?
