Keeping an adult dog on a chain is cruel enough. But to let a puppy grow up in this way is absolutely inhumane.
In Pöttchen’s case, it was also a very short chain.
His owner in Hungary obviously thought that puppies and dogs in general don’t need any love or even a bit of freedom of movement.
After Pöttchen had to spend his childhood in unimaginable suffering, he was fortunately rescued by animal welfare organisations and is now waiting for a loving home in a German foster home.
This is Pöttchen
Pöttchen is one year old and looks very much like a Maltese. He is 34 centimetres tall and weighs just eight kilograms. His beautiful white fluffy coat sheds very little.
He likes to go for walks on his short legs and curiously explores the world. He walks well on a lead and is a very pleasant companion.
This cute miniature male has a huge heart and beams with joy and friendliness despite his terrible experiences.
You might think Pöttchen would be afraid of people, but the opposite is true. He is full of trust and love for two-legged friends.
This sweet little chap not only loves to be out and about with his humans, but also loves to be cuddled and is very happy to receive any affection.
He is not pushy, but has a natural charm and is modest and grateful.
He not only proves his infinite good-heartedness when interacting with people, but is also always friendly and social towards other dogs and even cats.
The perfect home for Pöttchen
Pöttchen is looking for lots of love and security. He wants to make up for all the wonderful things he wasn’t allowed to experience in his childhood.
This sweet little rascal wants to cuddle, play, go on discovery tours and be a fully-fledged member of a family that really loves him with all its heart and never treats him badly or disappoints him.
As he was not allowed to learn the basics of being a dog on a chain, he would like to go to school, where he would like to be taught sensitively and patiently with positive reinforcement.
As sweet, uncomplicated and people-orientated as he is, he is sure to be a good pupil and a wonderful companion for his two-legged friends.
He is also an ideal dog for responsible beginners. What’s more, this little dog will fit into any home, even a city flat.
