Dr McArthur Billing and his family discovered a mysterious message on their rubbish bin saying that someone was living in the puddle in their garden.
At first, the father thought someone was playing a joke. Nevertheless, they curiously went to investigate the note.

To everyone’s astonishment, they actually found some goldfish in a small puddle.
Dr Billing, who is a biologist himself, was both fascinated and puzzled. How had the fish got there?
„I was shocked… completely shocked to see goldfish in a puddle. My first thought was, ‚How is this possible?‘ My second thought was, ‚We have to save the fish,‘ because the puddle was only temporary and would only last as long as it kept raining,“

It quickly became clear that the family had to save the fish and they decided to relocate the little inhabitants to their aquarium.
Dr Billing was certain that these fish species were not native to the area and had no business in British waters.
After releasing the fish safely into their new home, they quickly settled in and became part of the family.
Dr Billing looks after them lovingly and his children are delighted with their new housemates.
