Spezi and his siblings Tisa, Lenni, Heiu and Rina were born to their mum Marnie in an abandoned shed in Romania.
It is not known whether Marnie was left behind by her owner or sought refuge in the shed, but the little dog family did not go unnoticed.
Her story spread on social media and an animal welfare campaigner came across it. She drove out immediately, picked up the family and brought them to safety.
Now they are all waiting at the animal shelter for loving people to give them a home of their own.
This is Spezi
The cute siblings are dachshund mixes. Their mum is only 30 centimetres high at the shoulder, so it can be assumed that the puppies will also remain small.
The little ones are currently three months old. Spezi and the others have developed splendidly, are healthy and full of life.
Little Spezi is described as a real heartbreaker. He already has the perfect dachshund look and wraps everyone charmingly around his little paw.
So whenever someone has time for him, he gets the cuddles he longs for so much.
This sweet little chap is very cuddly and outgoing. He loves all people and is always friendly towards everyone. He also gets on very well with other dogs.
Despite his difficult start in life, he shows no fear, but is consistently positive, curious and open.
Spezi also loves to move around, play and romp with his siblings or people. His favourite place to be is in the fresh air in nature.
The ideal home for Spezi
Spezi is looking for a family that will give him lots of love, time and attention. He wants to cuddle and be active every day.
His people should be very warm-hearted as well as fit and adventurous and enjoy being outdoors.
As a puppy, Spezi is not yet able to stay alone and he doesn’t yet know the basics of being a dog. Once he has settled in, he would like to learn all this slowly, with a lot of empathy and patience.
Dachshunds are known to have a hunting instinct and a mind of their own, so consistent training is important.
However, only positive reinforcement should be used and Spezi should never have any doubts as to whether he is really loved.
It is also important that he is kept mentally busy as well as physically active. Search and tracking games, for example, are particularly suitable.
The little rascal also wants regular contact with doggie playmates.
Spezi would like to become a loyal companion for his family and stay with them forever. Will you fulfil his great wish?
