There are many unusual animal friendships. The latest is between a horse and a cat.
The two live with their owner Jennifer Boyle in Northern North South Wales in Australia.
Even their first meeting was quite something.
It was just another day in Australia
It all began when Jennifer decided to adopt a cat from the animal shelter.
Morris – the name of the cat with the bright green eyes and jet-black fur – is a particularly cuddly velvet paw.
As soon as he came home with Jennifer, Champy the horse decided that he wanted to be friends with Morris.
His interest was immediately aroused and he welcomed his new friend.
He even tried to groom him!
That went down well with the cat – and since that first meeting, the two have been one heart and one soul.
Cats can’t ride – or can they?
Morris is extremely curious. One day he tried to jump on Champ’s back. And to everyone’s surprise, Champ didn’t throw him off.
Instead, he carried Morris round the pasture. This has since become a special routine for the two four-legged friends.
Off to the bus stop with the first ray of sunshine
As soon as the sun appears over the horizon, Morris sets off for the pasture. That’s why Jennifer called it the bus stop.
Before the morning ride, however, they first greet each other properly. The two mates lick each other.
And once that’s done, Morris jumps onto Champ’s back. As a reward for the ride, Morris then brushes Champ’s mane and gives him a pat on the head.
Morris + Champ = a love for life
Morris has already had experience with horses – and not always of a positive nature. He has been thrown by more than one horse.
But as the saying goes, it’s best to get right back in the saddle – which is exactly what Morris did.
He and Champ are one of the most unusual internet sensations. And on Halloween and Christmas, they even go for a ride dressed up.
