Unfortunately, the unimaginable happens time and time again – countless puppies are simply dumped on the street and left to fend for themselves.
Often these are babies that are born against the wishes of their mum’s owner, but many puppies are also bought and then abandoned.
Little Ela seems to belong to the latter group. Now she is looking for a new – and this time loving – home.
This is Ela
Ela is currently around five months old and weighs ten kilograms. The slim girl is 41 centimetres tall and will probably remain medium-sized when fully grown.
With attentively pricked large ears, a cute black snout in her otherwise light brown coat and loyal dark saucer eyes, Ela is eagerly waiting for her humans.
The little mouse is a great bundle of energy and romps happily through life. She is very sporty and needs lots of physical activity to feel good.
But she also loves cuddles. In general, Ela loves people and wants to be very close to her carers.
When she meets someone new, she is initially anxious and sometimes makes this known loudly, but her shyness soon disappears when she gets to know the person better.
Ela is a very sweet dog who also gets on well with other dogs and cats. In her foster home she lives harmoniously with several of both.
She is happy to have playmates, although she has a slightly rougher way of playing. One of the cats once reprimanded Ela, which she accepted and since then the two have even been cuddling.
The sweet puppy girl is not only physically active, but also has an intelligent, attentive little head.
This helps her to learn, even though Ela naturally doesn’t know or be able to do many things at her age.
She walks quite well on a lead, but can still be distracted, and house-training doesn’t always work as well as she would like.
Ela’s story
The little girl was travelling all alone in the Romanian town of Zalau. Fortunately, she was close to an animal welfare organisation with a foster home.
She was discovered in time and rescued before anything bad could happen to her.
As Ela appeared to be very well cared for, the animal welfare officer assumed that she had only recently been abandoned.
Ela is looking for a loving new home
Ela would like to find her forever family who will really love her and stick by her for the rest of her life.
In addition to love and cuddles, she would like activities where she can show off her athleticism and intelligence in equal measure.
Her humans need to be sensitive and fit, enjoy exercise and give Ela plenty of time.
She would also like to learn dog basics with the help of positive reinforcement and patience.
