Lolek had a family. He was bought as a small puppy, but his owners didn’t realise that a dog needs attention and activity.
As he grew up, they became increasingly overwhelmed and when a baby was due, Lolek had to go.
Without a twinge of conscience, his family simply dropped him off at the animal shelter and turned to leave without looking back at the poor furry friend. Lolek was probably never loved.
The people-orientated young bundle of energy suffers greatly from being lonely in his kennel. Lolek urgently needs a new home.
This is Lolek
Lolek is a purebred German Shepherd who is only two years old. This beautiful male dog measures an impressive 63 centimetres at the shoulder and weighs 30 kilograms.
He is very affectionate, likes to be close to people and loves to be stroked and cuddled.
When one of the helpers at the shelter comes to him and cuddles him, that is Lolek’s absolute highlight.
But when these lovely moments are over, the gorgeous puppy sinks back into loneliness.
What’s more, he would love to move around. He loves to run, romp, play and work off his physical and mental energy.
But he spends most of his time sitting in a few square metres behind bars.
He can often be seen lying sadly on the kennel floor with his head on the water bucket, lost in thought.
However, the disappointment of being given away by his family and his sad existence in the shelter have not diminished his good nature.
Lolek is a real sweetheart, bursting with love and charm. Not only is he super-friendly towards people, he is also very social with his fellow dogs.
Typical German Shepherd, Lolek is docile, but he still has a lot to learn as his former owners didn’t take good care of him when training him.
For example, he already walks on a lead, but he has not yet fully understood how to walk on a lead.
He has probably also not been fed properly, as he seems to have developed a hip condition. More details need to be clarified by a vet.
The ideal home for Lolek
Lolek is looking for people who really love him and will take good care of him. He wants to be loyal to his family and never be disappointed again.
This sweet puppy dreams of a life full of cuddles and great activities. Long walks are a daily must, but he also wants to play and let off steam.
It is important that he is challenged both physically and mentally, as he is not only athletic but also intelligent.
A full family bond, familiar closeness and lots of time together should also be a matter of course.
As people-orientated and obedient as the character of a German Shepherd is, it still needs consistent training, as this breed has a protective instinct and can develop a thick skull if necessary.
Co-operation with a dog training school is recommended. In any case, in addition to consistency, a great deal of empathy is also required and only positive reinforcement should be used.
Experience with German Shepherds is an advantage. Lolek would also like to move into an experienced and loving foster family so that he can be given good support during training and with his hip condition.
