Unfortunately, most foster homes in Romania are time-limited. The dogs are often only allowed to stay for a few months, and those who are not placed within this time have to go to an animal shelter.
Puppy girl Polly is also threatened with the fate of having to swap the happiness of a nice home for a sad, noisy, cramped and smelly existence in an overcrowded animal shelter.
She doesn’t want to go there, no way. But her only chance is to be adopted quickly.
This is Polly
Little Polly is nine months old and therefore at an advanced puppy age. She is gradually entering puberty.
Polly is probably a beagle mix. Her compact build, the shape of her head, her colour and her large floppy ears all point to this.
She currently measures around 40 centimetres at the shoulder. She will probably grow a little, but will probably remain medium-sized.
This enchanting young dog always shows her „chocolate side“ in her foster home. She is always nice to everyone, whether it’s people, dogs or cats.
Polly is trusting and loves to cuddle, play and go for walks. The main thing is that she is together with her human or animal friends.
The little mouse also has a clever little head and likes to explore her surroundings with curiosity.
She shows the family-friendly and balanced nature typical of Beagles and is a very pleasant flatmate and companion.
So far, Polly has shown no signs of hunting instinct or a strong will of her own, for which this breed is also known. Of course, how she develops will depend on how she is trained.
The perfect home for Polly
With her charming, people-orientated and social nature, this little mouse will fit into any household that can and wants to give her enough love, time and activity.
Thanks to her even-tempered, uncomplicated nature, this sweet Beagle mix is also suitable for beginners.
Polly would like a very sensitive family with whom she can cuddle, go for walks and play, whereby both physical and mental exercise are important to her.
It is also important for her to have lots of contact with other dogs and to make animal friends.
It is not known whether she has already learnt any of the dog ABC in her foster home. It can be assumed that she still has a lot to learn and needs patient, loving support to do so.
Empathy and consistency are needed in equal measure, and the training style should only be positively reinforcing. Of course, this also applies if Polly questions the boundaries as a teenager.
Will you give Polly the love she deserves and save her from the pound?
A permanent foster home in Germany would also be a great help for the time being.
