It is always sad when animals are abandoned. But there is not always malicious intent behind it. Sometimes the owners are simply overwhelmed.
But abandoning an animal instead of giving it to a shelter is never the best choice for the animal.
After all, Qwerty the dog was lucky enough to be abandoned right outside an animal shelter.
Left alone with a message
Qwerty is tied up outside an animal shelter. Next to him is a sign, apparently written by a child, asking him to take good care of him.
It can therefore be assumed that this dog was loved. He was probably even treated well. But the family was unable to care for him.
Qwerty has short spine syndrome. With this hereditary disease, the spine is severely shortened. Although this can restrict freedom of movement, it is not dangerous.
A dog full of joie de vivre
Qwerty’s behaviour suggests that he has not been mistreated. He is friendly, cheerful and loves to play. He enjoys spending time with people and other dogs.
Nicky works for Roadogs Rescue and is fostering Qwerty until he is adopted. He is doing well with her and is blossoming. She takes wonderful care of him.
Eventually, a family decides to adopt Qwerty. He has to travel from California to Florida, but Nicky is sure that the family will take good care of him.
