The story of the Yorkshire terrier Theo is incomprehensible and tears at the heart of every animal lover.
But there is more, this story shows how cruelly and heartlessly some people treat their animals.
Death by euthanasia
This was exactly what little Theo was facing. Out of the blue, his family had decided to have the 4-year-old male dog put to sleep.
But sweet Theo wanted nothing more than to be loved. The fact that his family was so heartless and cold was almost incomprehensible to the Yorkshire terrier and his little heart broke.
Animal rescue par excellence
It wasan extremely fortunate coincidence that Theo was handed over to Friends of Rescue in Northern Ireland in October instead of dying by lethal injection.
There he was put through his paces. To everyone’s astonishment, no health problems were found that would have justified him being put down.
The vet who examined him said that he might develop trachea problems at some point, but at the moment it didn’t look like he would ever need treatment.
The animal rights activists were stunned when they heard the vet’s report. The sweet little dog was immediately placed with a loving foster family who had nothing but good things to say about him.
Here, too, it was chance that made it possible to place Theo in loving hands so quickly and easily.

Stormy, incredibly sweet and crazy playful
These are the qualities that Theo’s foster family attests to. However, he is finding it very difficult to settle in.
But in the meantime, they have even managed to get him almost house-trained.
His wild, boisterous nature can be brought under control wonderfully and easily with one or two good walks and some playtime.
Especially at night, the male dog is super well-behaved and doesn’t make a sound.
But it is already clear to the foster family that whoever gives Theo a real home will get a wonderful companion!
You just have to give the little guy lots of love and the attention he needs – then everything will be fine.
