When Devin Ekstom, the owner of 2-year-old wolfhound mix Indus, was away for ten weeks for basic training, Indus missed him dearly.
The wait seemed like an eternity, but finally the time had come – Devin was able to come home for the holidays to surprise his four-legged friend.
But Indus reacted very differently than his owner had hoped.
A surprising reunion
Devin’s wife Morgan captured the touching moment on video. When Indus noticed a stranger in the driveway, he barked loudly and was sceptical.
But as he approached his father and caught his familiar scent, he realised it was his beloved human.
Indus was beside himself with joy. He immediately pounced on Devin, showering him with all his love and wagging his tail in circles.
The joy was so overwhelming that Indus could hardly keep still and he couldn’t take his eyes off Devin.
Devin was touched by the warm welcome from his loyal companion and savoured every moment.
