How can someone really want to get rid of a cute puppy that is barely eight weeks old?
Dark beady eyes, light grey fur and an engaging personality characterise Radley, a puppy who was found abandoned and left hanging from a door handle.
An animal welfare organisation in London Greenford is now nursing the puppy back to health and keeping Radley’s fans up to date on his recovery.
Tied up with a hair band
Staff at a charity shop in the London borough of Greenford were astonished to find a red handbag hanging from their door handle.
However, their astonishment quickly turned to horror as the small handbag contained a puppy.
Not only was there hardly any room for him in the small bag, but his paws were tied up with a hair band so that he had no chance of escaping his prison.
In addition to a tin of dog food, there was also a note in the bag. The note said that the puppy had been found – nothing else.
Unforgivable mistreatment
We don’t know who abused the puppy like this. We can only assume that the finder or the former owner wanted to mitigate their crime against this animal with the note and the tin of dog food.
The fact that the bag was hung on the door handle of a charitable organisation also suggests that the little fellow was to be found.
Unfortunately, the finder or the owner didn’t think about the fact that the paws were tied up to restrict the little puppy’s blood supply.
On the road to recovery
The animal welfare organisation responsible is now keeping Radley’s fans up to date with his recovery.
His diarrhoea needs to improve just as much as his blood circulation needs to get back on track.
Needless to say, the sweet puppy is suffering from anxiety and stress. Meanwhile, the veterinary clinic in south-west London is keeping an eye on him and is doing its best to nurse Radley back to health and also minimise the psychological damage.
Adoption bids can be waived, as the animal welfare organisations are convinced that willing dog lovers will soon be found for Radley as soon as he is completely healthy again.
