This case from Spain is a sad example of foresight and love.
The Xollin animal shelter in Spain turns to the public with a tragic case. This uniqueness makes the case so special and so sad.
Normally, the shelter takes care of abandoned animals when the owners themselves are in need of care or have died and they rescue the animals from the hands of ruthless people.
Love also means letting go
Especially when it is better for the one you love. This is precisely the decision that 12-year-old Andres makes out of love for his beloved puppy.
When the shelter staff open the box in the morning, they find a small, frightened puppy sitting in it , looking at them with wide eyes.
Next to the puppy they find a letter and a soft toy. Inthe letter, 12-year-old Andres says that his father is constantly hitting and kicking the puppy.
Now the father has crushed the puppy’s tail. As a result, he and his mother have decided to take the dog to the animal shelter. He asks if the shelter can help his beloved pup.
Andre’s words are full of love. He added that he had put the soft toy there so that his puppy would always remember him, never forget him and know that he was loved by him.
He also writes that his father knows nothing about the fact that he took the dog away and he swears that he will never tell his father. This is the only way he can protect his puppy.
Help when it is needed
All the shelter staff were very touched and, as the little puppy’s tail was no longer in its normal shape, they immediately took him to a vet.
The vet discovered that the tail was indeed broken. He treated the break and the shelter staff took the little puppy, whom they named Rene, to the shelter.
Rene is being lovingly cared for there and his broken tail can heal in peace. He will be forever grateful to his 12-year-old rescuer Andres.
A new home
After the animal shelter turned to the public, they received hundreds of inquiries. Everyone wants to offer little Rene a place in their family.
The response has been tremendous and the shelter is confident that they will find the right family for the puppy once he is fully recovered. Fortunately, there is no fear of any consequential damage.
And despite the terrible things that Rene has experienced, he has not only been saved by Andras‘ love, but has become a really great dog himself.
