It’s truly distressing to consider the adversity that numerous pups endure in their lifetime. A number of them eventually feel distraught and despondent. The hope that they would someday experience the kindness of loving parents who will embrace them and make them feel deserving of their boundless affection fades away.
Residing on the brink of losing hope of ever understanding human love and yearning for an improved existence, was Royal, an amicable pup. Her appearance conveyed defeat, and the brightness of her expressive puppy eyes had dimmed. The young dog was aware of her illness and the pressing need for assistance.
What Royal was oblivious to, was the fact that benevolent human beings were on their way to rescue her, bringing about an alteration in her life that she could not possibly envision.
Puppy Rescued Thanks To Her Saviours
The team at I Stand With My Pack, a California-based non-profit organization, found the little wounded pup.
She was incessantly trembling. Mange had covered her head and entire body. Her condition distressed the team.
They saved her, giving her the name Royal, and brought her to a veterinary clinic. The vet administered the required medication.
Upon leaving the clinic, Royal was ready to head to her foster home and start her journey of healing.
Courtney, an experienced foster carer, decided to bring Royal to her home. Seeing the furry little one so skinny and delicate saddened her, but she was determined to do whatever was necessary to help her regain her health.
Upon her arrival, Courtney bathed Royal.
Royal appeared to be delighted with her foster mom and her affectionate cuddles. Courtney thought this was probably the first time Royal had interacted with humans.
Royal Demonstrates Her Toughness
Her surrogate mother stayed close, giving her affection and motivation constantly. As soon as Royal understood she was safe, she started feeling at ease and started eating. This put Courtney at comfort.
Royal adores curling up beside her foster mom in bed and showering her with affectionate licks.
Watching Royal make her initial steps around the house and wagging her small, curly tail filled Courtney with joy.
“Seeing her progressively reviving was an intense experience. It took two months for her to start moving around. Then, it took another two months for her to gradually begin to regrow her fur,” Courtney narrated to The Dodo.
Throughout her recovery phase, Royal was fortunate to have another companion who was a strong supporter.
“Shakes, my dog, took it upon himself to instruct her in wrestling, engaging with squeaky toys and balls. It was clear to see Royal learn and grow by observing another dog. This greatly contributed to her becoming healthier and increasing her strength,” she further explained.
Shakes aided in boosting Royal’s confidence and the two puppies formed a close bond. They relish going to the beach and running freely. When indoors, they enjoy each other’s company.
Royal’s eyes started reflecting happiness and joy and she began bouncing around like a rabbit in the grass.
Thriving in Her Ideal Forever Home
With time, Courtney found that Royal had captured her affection and had smoothly integrated into their family. Courtney chose to provide her the permanent home that she had always hoped for. The charming fluffy sweetheart adopted the new name Chicken.
Courtney took delight in witnessing her metamorphosis into a completely new canine.
Courtney admires her vibrant energy and her striking personality. Chicken has a tender and comforting routine: she rubs her eyes each morning after getting up, and each night before dozing off.
Chicken’s mother feels fortunate for her presence in her life and dubs her the “surprisingly flawless extension to our family”.
Chicken manages her personal Instagram account, posting updates about her wonderful life in California. She experiences affection like never before.
The doggie enjoys assisting her mom, often volunteering to keep an eye on her foster siblings.
Attributing to her champions at I Stand With My Pack and her mom’s unending love and commitment, Chicken has evolved into a lively, healthy fur baby relishing her life.
