What could be nicer than enjoying the warmth of the house on a cold and snowy winter’s day?
This wish is not only very important for humans, but also for four-legged friends, and fulfillment is always longed for.
The dog in this story is probably hoping for the same thing. Unfortunately, he has none of it and ekes out his existence in a cold hut. One day, however, everything changes.
In a hut in Illinois
The sweet dog Roscoe certainly doesn’t know why he has to be alone here, but he is content with his fate.
From time to time, his family brings him fresh water and food so that he at least has enough to eat.
One day, however, winter comes in full force and no one is able to look after the four-legged friend.
The little dog doesn’t know how long he will last. With each passing hour, the spark of hope fades.
Help at last
Soon, however, help arrives. Effingham County Animal Control and Shelter became aware of little Roscoe and sent officers Vanessa Skavlem and Warden Michelle to him.
They immediately take care of him and Roscoe shows how grateful he is for the unexpected rescue.
No one knows how long it has been since he has seen someone who really means well for him, and the rescuers can only guess.
„He was just so happy, you could see it,“
is how Skavlem describes her first impression of her new protégé shortly after the rescue.
Happy and content
Miraculously, Roscoe is doing well. After a snack of cookies and gravy, he is back to his old self.
Wrapped up in blankets, his rescuers take another photo of him and it’s amazing: all the suffering of the past is nowhere to be seen.
Roscoe has found happiness and will soon be able to leave everything that made him sad behind him. Thank you to two people in the shape of angels.
