This little ray of sunshine has not had an easy life. She has been mistreated since birth and faces a correspondingly bleak life.
But an animal organization becomes aware of her and is able to free her from the clutches of her abusers.
As soon as the dog realizes that she is free, this becomes apparent to her and so it is not surprising that only one name comes into question for her.
The little dog was christened Smile and the choice of name was no accident.
The cute animal had a permanent grin on her face that stretched from ear to ear.
It took a lot of patience, love and care for the poor four-legged friend to regain his trust in humans.
The gratitude was written all over the tender animal’s face.
It was love at first sight
Smile was born in a town in Tijuana (Mexico). Unfortunately, she did not receive the attention and care that a puppy like this needs.
Nevertheless, the brave puppy seemed resilient and was eventually rescued by No Dog Left Behind (NDLB).
Unbelievable: despite her sad life story , she greeted her new companions with a sweet smile on her face.
Stephanie Easley, the director of NDLB, reported:
„My team and I immediately fell madly in love with the little one.“
Patience and care were now required
Finally, Smile was transported from California to Minnesota.
Although the heartwarming smile still adorned the cute dog’s face, she was scared.
But the animal friends were very gentle and sensitive with her and she eventually warmed up to them.
„As soon as she was out of the van and no longer felt like she was being pushed into a corner, she felt much better,“
says Stephanie Easley, head of operations at NDLB.
Soon after, she was no longer cowering.

Instead, she curled up into a fluffy ball and watched the humans work with interest.
A new home for the friendly puppy
Stephanie Easley decided to take Smile, who had grown close to her heart, into her care.
She now spends her best days with her new foster mother and is very happy.
Easley can’t stop raving about it either and describes her favorite morning ritual:
„The moment I open my eyes, she’s already looking at me and smiling, of course.“
However, the dog lover also knows that their time together is only temporary.
„My hope is that she gets a family that is just as crazy about her as mine is.“
Despite her ordeal, Smile is such a grateful and trusting dog. Deep down, she feels that her life will be better from now on.
