A woman’s cold-blooded act shakes the hearts of all animal lovers in St. Louis. A helpless pit bull is thrown into a skip like worthless garbage.
But thanks to the determined rescue workers and the love of animal lovers, not only this dog but also two puppies are given a second chance.
A heartless act: the story of Malea
An employee of the Stray Rescue of St. Louis (SRSL) receives an urgent call that makes his heart beat faster with horror.
An alert passerby has witnessed a reckless woman throw a helpless dog into a dumpster and cold-heartedly drive away without looking back.
The rescue team immediately rushes to the scene and opens the container.
There they come across a delightful face looking straight at them – a face that radiates hope despite the dire circumstances.

Malea, Hocus and Pocus: A happy turn of events for the puppies
To their relief, the rescuers realize that the dog, a full-grown female pit bull named Malea, is in good condition despite the distressing situation.
But their mission does not end there. On the way back to the shelter, they receive another emergency call:
Two puppies named Hocus and Pocus have been abandoned in a downtown parking lot.
Without hesitation, the rescuers take the puppies on board, just like Malea.
While the shelter is already overcrowded, the brave dogs find temporary refuge in loving foster homes.
„The puppies are in foster homes and Malea is on a rovernight. Someone takes a dog out of the shelter for a few nights,“
says Donna Lochmann, SRSL’s head of life-saving measures.
Despite the terrible start, Malea, Hocus and Pocus now have a chance at a better life.
These brave dogs are still looking for their forever families who will give them the love and security they deserve.
The unconditional love of people and the community can work miracles and turn darkness into shining light.
