Animal shelters are like rescue centres for four-legged friends who no longer have a familiar home.
They are cared for and the carers do everything they can to give them what they are missing. With a bit of luck, the pets will soon find a new family.
Beagle Suzie hopes so too, but she is still alone after many visits from animal lovers.
New home in Maryland
Two years on the street, without a bond with humans or animals. That was always the daily routine in Suzie’s life.

At least until one day the helpers at the SPCA animal shelter in Baltimore became aware of her and gave her the prospect of a new life.
Now the dog has a roof over her head, is being looked after and is no longer on her own.
Friends are adopted
Unfortunately, the hope that Suzie would quickly find a new family was not realised. Her friends, on the other hand, fare differently. One by one, they find a new home.
Suzie, however, remains alone even after many visits. She receives nothing more than a friendly glance. Perhaps this is due to the lack of bonding over the past few years.
Sadly, she has to watch as everyone walks past her kennel and nobody stops to take a serious interest in her.
The spark of hope fades with each passing day.
A look full of hope
Time passes and nothing seems to change in the sad fate of the beagle lady. Every day is characterised by the same routine.
But then she suddenly appears: a little girl smiling at Suzie. It is a moment that says more than words ever could.
The little girl puts a hand on the windscreen, trying to make a connection, and Suzie does the same. A moment that will stay in both their hearts forever.

Suddenly that feeling is back. Right in the centre of a dog’s soul that has had to endure so much: hope arrives and finally brings happiness again.

It is the beginning of a friendship that makes us forget everything that was once sad and lonely.
