But our animal friends also have to struggle with this. Pit bull Hazel, who has been blind for years, is no exception.
Although first her foster parents and then her adoptive parents are always there for her, she has a very special wish.
They love her just the way she is
Hazel may have lost her sight, but she still felt the endless love of her foster family.
Her parents Elli and Sam loved the four-legged friend more than anything, which is why they did everything they could to make their home as safe as possible for the dog.
After all, Hazel needed to feel comfortable and be able to move around freely so that she could lead a life like any other dog.
New home for Hazel
As they were only a foster home for the dog, they tried to find Hazel a forever home.
They made Hazel’s story public – and it wasn ‚t long before the lovely couple Allison and Pete got in touch.
They immediately fell in love with the sweet four-legged friend and decided to give him a new home.
An operation changes everything
Her new parents did everything they could to fulfill the pit bull’s wish of finally being able to see properly.
They had Hazel’s eyes operated on – with complete success! Now she could see her adoptive parents properly for the very first time.
The couple decided to share their joy at Hazel’s regained sight.
So they set off to visit the dog’s former foster parents.
A touching moment
Now Hazel could finally see the people who had previously cared for her so lovingly and given her all their love.
It was a touching moment when the dog saw her foster parents clearly for the first time!
Her eyes were worth a thousand words – she was so grateful to have regained her sight!
