Ibrahim is a boy of perhaps eight or nine years old. He lives in the Chechen capital Grozny and looks like thousands of other boys his age.
A huge heart beats in this child’s small chest. He shows it when he thinks he is unobserved and encounters two stray dogs on the sidewalk.
So much love to give
Instead of simply walking past the dogs, as probably nine out of ten people would have done, the boy kneels down between the two furry friends.
He strokes them and takes them in his arms. Then he stands up and takes a few steps away. He still can’t bring himself to leave and turns back.
There is still too much love in him for his two four-legged fellow creatures and he wants to share it once again with a hug.
Only a child can feel such beautiful emotions in such purity.
Secretly filmed
What the boy doesn’t realize is that he is by no means as unobserved as he thinks. A woman in a nearby building sees Ibrahim and films the heartwarming scene.
The video goes viral. Alongside many strangers, people close to Ibrahim also saw it. Everyone is deeply touched by his behavior.
One woman who comes across the video by chance is Katharina, a friend of Ibrahim’s family. She writes:
„He goes to school with my daughter and helps her carry her bag. He’s a very nice boy.“
I’m sure no one will disagree with her.
A better world
Strictly speaking, it is not entirely okay to film another person and then post the video online. Hopefully Ibrahim can forgive the woman from the neighboring house for this little border crossing.
The video, which is barely 30 seconds long, makes the world a better place for half a minute.
