Unfortunately, street dogs in Romania are not officially regarded as living beings worthy of protection, but as a problem.
There is a reward for catching strays, which dubious dog catchers are only too keen to have.
So, „armed“ with snares attached to poles, nets and small cages, they go on the hunt for the helpless four-legged friends and forcibly bring them to an overcrowded animal shelter.
Brandy had to experience this first-hand.
This is Brandy
Brandy is a medium-sized male dog with a shoulder height of around 53 centimetres and a strong build.
His soft coat in various shades of light brown and grey, his black mask, his triangular prick ears and his bushy, upturned tail make him a real eye-catcher.
This sweet boy dog is estimated to be around four years old. So he’s past his „lout age“, but still full of youthful energy.
He would love to play and go for walks with people and other dogs, but he has to sit in the shelter.
What is even worse for him is the lack of attention. Brandy is a very affectionate dog boy who needs lots of cuddles and wants to be close to people.
The dog catchers and everything he will have experienced beforehand have done nothing to change his good-natured soul.
Brandy is and remains a gentle, loving, cuddly and trusting dog who likes to please his humans.
The social young male is also very friendly with other dogs.
The perfect home for Brandy
Brandy is looking for a cosy home with sensitive two-legged friends who will love him dearly and forever.
He needs plenty of cuddles, exercise and activity every day. Accordingly, his humans should be both cuddly and active.
He wants to be a full member of the family, be included in life together and be as close as possible to his two-legged friends.
Regular contact with other dogs is also on his wish list.
Of course, Brandy also wants to learn the basics of dog training. He is keen to do everything right, but doesn’t know the rules yet.
That’s why he wants patient, understanding and loving training with positive reinforcement.
