Close To His Death, Cancer-Stricken Man Gives His Disabled Dog A Heartwarming Present

„Sein letzter Wunsch“ - Was dieser todkranke Mann für seinen Chihuahua tat, rührt alle zu Tränen

For most people, dogs are part of the family and they love them just as much as their own children.

That’s why they would do anything for their four-legged friend – just like this man, who fulfilled his dog’s last wish despite being seriously ill himself.

His life was marked by strokes of fate

Andrew Kuzyk from Atlanta, Georgia, had to fight a lot in the last years of his life:

He received several cancer diagnoses, including a stage four brain tumor, melanoma, a bone tumor and kidney cancer.

As he had to pay for all his medication himself, he also lost his house – and had to sell almost everything that was important to him.

But despite these many losses, he had someone in his life who stayed with him no matter how hard it was – his faithful Chihuahua Champ!

His life wasn’t exactly easy either

Just like his owner, Champ also had a health problem: he was born without front paws!

Nobody wanted the poor puppy back then – until Andrew and his wife became aware of him and had no choice but to adopt him.

They were like soul mates from the very beginning and went through even the hardest times together.

When he sits on my lap and I cuddle up to him, it’s a divine feeling,“

says Andrew. It was as if he was meant for him, as they both shared the same fate.

He is the perfect comfort for him

Despite his disability, Chihuahua Champ let absolutely nothing stop him – he lived his life as if he was a perfectly healthy dog.

Andrew was impressed by this fighting spirit and therefore decided to never give up himself, „no matter how hard he had it.

Champ is a huge comfort to Andrew, especially during his chemotherapy. Even the nurses are delighted with this self-confident four-legged friend.

When the nurses know we’re coming, they gather in the hallway and wait for Champ,“

reports Andrew.

But nothing worked

Unfortunately, both chemotherapy and radiotherapy no longer worked for Andrew, so the doctors considered him to be out of therapy – they estimated that he only had a year to live.

Despite this shock news, Andrew was determined to achieve one last goal in his life. And not for himself, but for his beloved Chihuahua.

He wanted to get Champ a wheelchair so that he could finally walk properly.

„His back is so crooked. I don’t want it to stay that way or for him to break anything. We are very careful with him „,

reports Andrew.

The dog wheelchair was very expensive

The dog wheelchair was supposed to cost several hundred dollars – hardly affordable for Andrew and his wife in their current situation.

Fortunately, after Andrew published his story online, a company was found that was willing to cover the entire cost.

A representative later said to them:

„We know you’ve worked so hard to raise the funds necessary to purchase a wheelchair for Champ, and we wanted to take that burden off your shoulders.“

Finally, Andrew’s greatest wish came true!

„I’m the happiest man in the world.“

Andrew is so happy to finally see his beloved Champ walking properly. This dog makes him so happy and gives him the strength that he could do anything in his life.

I don’t know how I would think if I didn’t have Champ,“

andrew says happily.

This man proves that everyone can be happy, no matter how much or little they have in life – because it’s not about material things, but about spending wonderful time with your loved ones.
