The moving story of an old woman and her beloved four-legged friend is currently touching people’s hearts.
Especially because she has opened her heart and conquered hard-heartedness.
It doesn’t work without money
Animal shelters need money to finance their important work. That is clear.
This money comes not only from donations, but also from adoption fees when an animal is placed.
In and of itself, this is a great thing.
But, as usual, there is a flip side to the coin. Sometimes the adoption fees have exactly the opposite effect, as in this case.
Humanity instead of a slide rule
Jessica Jade is the manager of the operation for Santa Rosa County Animal Services in Florida in the USA. She made sure that this heartwarming story became known.
It’s the story of a dog named „Glock“.
Unfortunately, he had to spend two weeks at the shelter because his owner couldn’t raise enough money for both of them. When she went to pick him up, she was devastated.
The old lady was desperate because she wanted her beloved Glock back home but couldn’t afford to pay for the ransom. Crying, she begged to get her dog back.
Jessica, who should only have given Glock back in exchange for the ransom money, made an exception. She felt sympathy for the distraught woman and took her to her four-legged friend.
Crying and overjoyed, the old lady took her beloved four-legged friend, who had been waiting for her, back home with her. But that wasn’t all Jessica did for them.
The animal shelter gave Glock’s owner some food and gave her a voucher for Glock’s upcoming neutering.
As the woman also had kittens, Jessica decided to do something great.
She gave the old lady more neutering vouchers to prevent the kittens from reproducing unintentionally. The old lady would never have been able to afford the costs herself.
Cordiality needs no gratitude, but great praise

The generosity shown by this example could help countless animals to find a new home, even if there is no money to pay for it.
On the one hand, it would free up urgently needed shelter places for emergencies and, on the other, the enthusiastic reactions of people who heard about it show that they are in favor of further help for the shelter.
