When Pakita was found on the streets of an Argentinian city, she was immediately taken to the animal shelter.
There, all hearts flew to her in an instant – but unfortunately not those of people who could have given her a forever home.
Pakita was super cute and super sweet – but unfortunately too old for many people.
All hope lost for Pakita?
Pakita’s situation at El Arca Animal Partido de Mar Chiquita seemed hopeless and hopeless.
She spent every day in her cage and soon suffered from depression.
She withdrew completely and suffered from a broken heart. According to a report by iheartdogs.com, this also made her lose her appetite, which is why she became emaciated.
Her keepers were very worried about her. For two long years, they tried everything to find Pakita a loving home – but to no avail.
Finally, they decided to get social media involved and posted a photo of Pakita on Facebook.
This was no easy task either, as Pakita was so scared that she hid in the corner of her cage and refused to be photographed.
A miracle happens
Then the unexpected miracle happened – Silvia Ferreyra, who works for El Arca, received a message that would change everything:
„We received a message from a woman telling us that Pakita was her son’s dog – and that he had been looking for her for a long time!“

Reunion after all hope seemed lost
Ariel, the son’s name, initially had no doubt that Pakita would one day return to him.
After two long years of waiting and hoping, Ariel had also given up on ever seeing his dog again.
But then his mother called him and told him about the Facebook post. He simply couldn’t believe that Pakita was still alive!
He immediately drove to El Arca the next day to see this miracle for himself. All Ariel had to do was look at the dog and he knew: that was his Pakita!
Pakita, on the other hand, was not so sure – until, after a long sniff, she realized that her favourite human had found her again.
Even two years couldn’t erase her memory of her human’s smell, face and touch.
