At 12 weeks old, St. Bernard Brody is given a new home by Dave and Edie Mazzarella.
But as soon as Brody has had his first bath, the lively puppy disappears through the door!
His owner Dave didn’t pay attention for a second and hurried off in search of him. When he finds Brody, he has a new best friend.
But when Dave’s neighbor disappears one day, Brody is unhappy from then on.
Brody finds a girlfriend for life
There is no fence between the Mazzarellas‘ property and their neighbor. And the little rascal takes advantage of this.
He roams across the lawn and is determined to make new friends. And he should succeed quickly.
The Mazzarellas‘ 93-year-old neighbor meets the little runaway shortly after he disappears. The elderly lady Sally tells KOMO News:
„There was a little puppy lying next to my patio door and he was so cute! And small. And he stayed there, and that was Brody.“
An animal friendship
What follows are wonderful pictures of an animal friendship. Brody visits Sally for several hours every day.
First he spies through the windows where his best friend is, then he sneaks in through the open patio door or waits until it is opened for him.
Sometimes he sits with his paws on the window for quite a long time and waits patiently until Sally notices him.
Then Sally and Brody sometimes watch TV for hours, work together in the garden or give each other long cuddles.
Suddenly Sally disappears
As time goes by, Brody gets bigger and Sally gets older. One day she has a heart attack and decides to move into a retirement home.
As a result, Brody no longer understands the world. He visits his best friend every day, but she is no longer there.
Finally, Dave and Edie can no longer watch the sad scene. And so Dave decides to take Brody to visit Sally in the old people’s home.
Meanwhile, Dave and Brody go to visit Sally once a week and then Brody lies at Sally’s feet for hours while she massages him with her foot.
What a wonderful friendship!
