Bad things happen, but they don’t have to determine the future. Maggie, as she is later called, has to go through a lot in life.
But the dog from Lebanon still has a big heart. It’s hard to believe what she becomes with a little love and care.
Shot at, mutilated and humiliated
When Maggie is found, she is more dead than alive. With 17 bullet wounds, she sits chained to the side of the road. One ear has been cut off and four bullets are lodged in her eyes.

It is thanks to the Wild at Heart Foundation and her volunteer helper Kasey Carlin that she is alive and walking a remarkable path.
„She gets around, can run, walks without a lead… And she’s brilliant“,
says the experienced foster mom about her fosterling.

Kasey can’t give Maggie away
It’s pure love: Kasey doesn’t have the heart to give Maggie away when she is healthy again. She makes an important decision and adopts the brave dog.

She comes up with a few ideas to help the blind animal find her way around. The dog’s willingness to learn is unbelievable and so Kasey comes up with an idea.

Because Maggie immediately has a good connection with people, she registers the dog for training as a therapy dog – the clever Maggie passes the test straight away.
The dog shows everyone what she’s made of

What Maggie goes through alone in the time up to her fifth birthday is enough to last a lifetime. Instead of becoming bitter and withdrawing, however, Maggie opens her heart.

As a therapy dog, the sweet dog helps those who need it. They all have their baggage to carry and Maggie helps them with the heavy burden.
Hopefully Maggie has a long and happy life ahead of her.

She deserves to be compensated for her difficult past and get some of the love back that she gives.
