When something drastic changes in people’s lives, it’s not easy for pets either.
This is the case for a family from Southern California who receive an eviction notice. They move to another apartment and unfortunately forget someone..
He no longer understands the world
A move that involves not only leaving familiar surroundings, but logically also confronting a completely unfamiliar area, is usually pure stress for animals.
However, it is even worse if the animal is simply left behind.
„They just drove off and left him behind,“
says Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy dog rescue.
„The poor guy is now, of course, waiting for his humans to come back,“
she adds.
Fritter, as she later names the dog, has absolutely no idea where his family has gone.
Of course, he can’t get back into the house either, because the family has left it for good. So he huddles in empty cardboard boxes scattered around the yard.

There he eagerly awaits the return of his loved ones
Sometimes he runs out into the street and watches the cars go by. But his family is not there.
Luckily, the neighbors take care of the dog, giving him water and something to eat.
However, when they find out that the city wants to demolish the house, they immediately turn to Logan’s Legacy for help.
Suzette Hall sets up a humane trap with great treats and waits for Fritter to go inside.
But he’s suspicious of the whole thing… No wonder, he’s totally scared and confused.
Fritter slowly thaws out
Suzette Hall talks gently to the dog on the drive to Camino Pet Hospital. Incredibly, after they arrive, she can even hug him.
Now she can hand her charge over to the vet team.
After a bath and some medication, Fritter’s behavior changes completely. He is an absolutely warm and loving dog who is now waiting for a loving adoptive family.
One thing is clear: he will never have to sleep alone in moving boxes again.
