Ghost is abandoned in the desert south-east of Las Vegas while still a puppy. But the snow-white dog miraculously survives.
Ghost and his unusual new family
To everyone’s astonishment, a pack of coyotes takes care of the puppy. People from the neighborhood first spot the unusual combination, as FOX 5 reports.
Interested in the dog’s fate, they start taking photos and filming. Eventually, they share the locations where Ghost appears on Maps.
When a change becomes noticeable, the people in the neighborhood start to worry: Ghost is limping!
Ghost lives up to his name
People keep trying to catch the dog. But as soon as they approach him, Ghost lives up to his name and disappears into nothingness.
Eventually, the animal rescuers from „The Southern Nevada Trapping Team“ become aware of Ghost and have more luck.
They set up a cage with dog food in the desert and sure enough, the hungry puppy falls into their net.
And not a minute too soon, as it turns out at the veterinary clinic.
Having become vulnerable due to his limp, Ghost was in danger of being overwhelmed by the coyotes. This was also indicated by several bite wounds in his fur.
Ghost bears many wounds
In addition to the bite wounds, Ghost suffered from an eye infection, an ear infection and a broken toe that had to be amputated.
Ghost also had to have his entire scrotum removed. And it was suspected that Ghost had eaten small pebbles out of sheer hunger.
As soon as Ghost has undergone all the procedures and is completely healthy again, the snow-white dog will be put up for adoption.
Although Ghost has spent several weeks with coyotes, he shows no signs of aggression or feral behavior.
Right from the start, Ghost behaved like a house dog who loves people and enjoys cuddles.
It is particularly important for the animal rescue that Ghost is given a loving home, as he still suffers from anxiety, especially at night.
He needs someone who has patience and lots of love for him.
