Dogs have significantly more olfactory cells than humans. It is therefore completely normal for them to sense things that remain hidden from us.
Sometimes, however, they show their owners what they find – as in this case. This man’s husky shows him something very special that he can hardly believe.
The four-legged friend sniffs at the grate of an overflow for heavy downpours
During a walk, his dog’s fine nose apparently discovered something that no one else would ever have noticed.
When the man goes to see what his husky is so interested in, he finds a curious situation.
A black kitten is lying under the fence. The animal is still young – and it is not alone. A second kitten is hiding behind it in the drain in the wall.
The two kittens are well hidden
As long as it’s not raining, the two velvet paws are perfectly hidden down there and have a quiet place to retreat to.
He quickly realises that the two are there of their own free will and not stuck there when he puts water and food out for them. Within a very short time, the two climb to the top.
Their slender bodies fit perfectly through the holes in the manhole cover and they make a beeline for the welcome snack.
The two little strays are not particularly shy. The man can even touch them after a short time – whether this is due to their curiosity or their great hunger remains unclear.
The two siblings are very lucky
The man seems to have a big heart for animals. He has obviously caught them and brought them home in a carrier bag.
As cute as they are, it’s no wonder he doesn’t leave them outside.
The fact that a nice life with food, cuddles and the company of a curious husky is waiting for them is a wonderful ending to this story.
