Denali’s story is one of those that brings tears to the eyes of every dog lover and makes them incredibly angry at the same time.
The cruelty experienced by the still friendly pit bull Denali can hardly be surpassed.
Nevertheless, she never gave up hope – and it was worth it.
Burnt to the bone
When Denali came to the animal rights activists, her fur was almost completely burnt. She has deep burns on her back. She is screaming in pain.
The vets don’t have much hope that Denali will survive. And yet she wags her tail.
When Karey, a volunteer from the animal welfare organization, sees this, she decides to take Denali home and get through this difficult time with her.
An ordeal for humans and animals
The two of them go to the clinic every day to change her bandages – an ordeal that Denali bravely endures.
Despite everything she has been through, Denali is still friendly and open to all people.
The wounds heal, the fur grows back, even if countless scars remain.
This does not affect Denali’s zest for life. She romps around with Hugo, another pittie in her home, and enjoys her life.
Perseverance pays off
Karey has since adopted Denali and tells her story with pride. Because Denali is the best example of how it pays to never give up.

What did the poor Pittie lady go through? Her former owners had a fight. The argument escalated and in the end, the woman set the house on fire.
Denali was in a cage at the time. Fortunately, she was rescued, albeit seriously injured.
Denali was three years old at the time. Today she is eight and happy again. Thanks to Karey, who accompanied her through the painful hell and gave her a new life.
