A pair of dogs spotted a small animal in the dirt, and initially, it was pretty difficult to identify. But because of the gentle behavior of these dogs, the tiny creature was secure. The little one happened to be a baby feathertail glider, which is indigenous to eastern Australia.
These are the tiniest gliding mammals currently known, and it seems this one might’ve dropped from its mother’s pouch. It’s extremely fortunate that it wasn’t ignored or crushed on the ground! Trust a dog, often called man’s best friend, to show enough love and care to rescue such a delicate life.
