The cruelty that some animals have to suffer because of humans is simply terrible. Street dogs in particular often live in terrible conditions.
This is what happened to Batty and Ratty. The two dogs are tied to a beam for two years until someone finally looks behind their aggressive façade and helps them.
They lead an unimaginable existence
Because they are tied to a beam, they can’t get away and get something to eat.
They live in a tiny spot and are at the mercy of outside influences.
They are scared, in pain and unimaginably hungry. Because they cannot express any of this, they communicate in the only way they can.
They bark, act aggressively and keep everyone away from them until someone finally takes heart and the two finally learn to trust people through food.
They can finally be freed
After some time, their rescuers are finally able to cut the wire ropes that are cutting into their necks. They take them to a vet where they are treated.
Batty and Ratty have tick fever, mange and are anemic. Batty also has a broken leg.
As bad as it seems at first, the two of them have a wonderful life ahead of them and don’t have to wait much longer for it.
New names and a new life await them both
When they are finally well again, the two are adopted. Unfortunately, they can’t stay together.
Their new owners rename them: Batty becomes Benji and Ratty becomes Otis.
But fate is finally kind to the pair: The two women who give the two sweet strays a home become friends.
This way, the two can play together regularly and enjoy the good side of life that they had to do without for so long.

Watch the video to see for yourself what a wonderful friendship the two dogs still have after their ordeal and what their lives are like now!
