Nala lives happily and contentedly with her family. She is a real cuddly cat who loves being stroked and sitting on your lap.
She also loves treats and draws her owners‘ attention to her with dramatic meowing when she is hungry. Typical cat.
She is even good friends with the family dog. All is well in Nala’s beautiful little world. Until now.
Suddenly everything is different
So far, Nala has been an only cat and she’s happy with that, because she wants to have her beloved humans and her dog all to herself.
But her owners have a different opinion – they would like to have a second cat and decide in favour of a young kitten.
Nala finds it difficult to deal with her new flatmate and to get used to the fact that she will have to share attention with another cat from now on.
Unfortunately, her owners make no effort to get the two cats used to each other, but simply make a decision that can hardly be surpassed in heartlessness.
Nala is no longer good enough
The family actually wanted two cats. But now that the two don’t get on straight away, the humans decide that one cat is enough.
And this one cat is not Nala, who has lived with them for her entire eight years, but the new kitten. Nala has to go. It’s as simple as that for her owners.
So Nala is handed in to the animal shelter without further ado. That’s it – Nala’s happy life is over from one day to the next.
Deeply saddened, she now sits in the animal shelter and simply cannot understand what her humans have done to her.
A happy turnaround
The staff at the Humane Society of Broward County, where Nala now lives, are doing everything they can to make Nala as comfortable as possible.
They are also intensively searching for someone to adopt the pretty Nala. Among other things, they are sharing a video on TikTok.
The video is liked, shared and commented on thousands of times. The users are shocked by the behaviour of Nala’s former owners.
But after a short time, there is a sigh of relief – the animal welfare organisation writes in a comment under the video:
„UPDATE: Nala was adopted by someone who flew in from Texas especially to meet her!!! Thank you so much for sharing the post and helping her get adopted!“
