The family who found Helge as a small puppy and took him in probably only meant well. But just rescuing a dog from the street is not enough.
You also have to take good care of it or make sure that someone else does. Unfortunately, his finders kept the little puppy in unworthy conditions.
Now animal welfare activists have finally been able to persuade them to give Helge up. He is now hoping for a good, loving home in a foster home.
This is Helge
Helge is now ten months old. He is therefore gradually in the transition phase from puppy to adult dog.
This adorable male dog measures 55 centimetres at the shoulder with an athletic build and will remain roughly the same size. He is a mixed breed with a clearly recognisable proportion of Golden Retriever.
Not only does his appearance bear a strong resemblance to the Goldie, but his character is also typical of this breed.
Helge is a very friendly, open-minded and peaceful dog boy who bonds closely and loyally to his humans, loves cuddles more than anything and wants to be both physically and mentally active.
In a charming way, he likes to ask his two-legged friends for cuddles and play sessions and is happy to receive any attention.
He also shows his good-natured nature towards other dogs and likes to make play friends. He has not yet met any cats.
Helge’s story
As a tiny puppy, Helge wandered lonely and abandoned through the streets of Romania. He had probably been abandoned.
But he seemed to be lucky, a family found him and took him home. However, his dream of a loving home was quickly shattered.
Helge was locked in a kennel outside and hardly paid any attention to. He had to grow up in this unworthy manner – no sign of a carefree puppy life.
Animal welfare activists, who were made aware of the situation, repeatedly tried to persuade the family to relinquish Helge.
Now that they have succeeded, the sweet puppy can finally experience affection and freedom. He would like to spend his whole life with his very own family.
The ideal home for Helge
Helge is looking for people who really love him, are always there for him and accept him as a fully-fledged member of the family.
He wants to cuddle a lot every day, be part of life alongside his two-legged friends and experience lots of great adventures.
This sporty puppy is looking for an active family who enjoy being out and about in nature and can offer him plenty of physical and mental activity every day.
He would also like to use his brains to learn, as he is not yet familiar with the ABC of dogs.
Typical Golden Retriever, he will certainly be a good pupil if his humans teach him with positive reinforcement, empathy and patience.
