It’s just sad when the years go by and a dog has to go without love and security all the time.
Kanani’s path led from the street to an overcrowded public animal shelter, then to a private shelter.
At least here she is not locked up, but can run around freely on the property with other dogs. But a real home looks different.
This is Kanani
This gorgeous little dog is now seven years old. This means she is no longer a teenager, but a dog in her prime.
She is a pleasant average height of 49 centimetres and weighs a slim 17 kilograms. Her dense black shorthair coat is adorned with white markings on her chest.
„Kanani“ means „beauty“ in Hawaiian and there is probably no more fitting name for this beautiful dog.
She looks hopeful with a gentle gaze from her pretty brown eyes – she hasn’t lost faith that everything will be alright after all.
Kanani has a loving heart and is very good-natured and social.
When she meets new people, she is a little shy at first, but this soon disappears. She soon comes up to you and wants to be stroked.
After a short time, this sweetie shows her cuddly nature and doesn’t want to leave her two-legged friends‘ side.
This kind-hearted dog also gets on very well with other dogs of her own kind, whether big or small.
She really enjoys the occasional walks and curiously explores the neighbourhood with her fine nose.
As soon as she has warmed up to a person (which usually takes a few minutes and a few treats), she walks well on a lead.
The ideal home for Kanani
Kanani is looking for people who will show her right from the start that they mean well by her, without placing any expectations on her.
She wants to gain confidence and settle in at her own pace. She would like patience, empathy and understanding from her family in this process, as well as in her training.
This loyal, people-orientated dog would like to receive lots of loving attention and be as close as possible to her two-legged friends.
Lots of cuddling and great walks in the countryside with time to sniff around should not be missing on any day.
