Let’s talk about Angelo, a foundling Great Dane puppy, who was all but given up on. The poor pup was in a dreadful condition of severe malnutrition, with his ability to hold himself up on his paws lost.
Then, miraculously, something incredible happened! A benevolent woman who regularly volunteers to rescue homeless dogs intervened to aid. However, Angelo’s situation wasn’t a straightforward one, as he was still in dire need of extensive medical treatment.
Angelo Was Teetering on the Brink of Death
The lack of movement from this Great Dane pup was due to stones found in his belly. Regrettably, Angelo was so undernourished and famished that he consumed stones to survive.
His stomach was overrun with stones, hence his inability to eat further or defecate upon arrival at the shelter. This posed a dire risk to his life, necessitating emergency surgery. Yet, the survival of this Great Dane youngster was not assured even after the operation.
Commitment of Furever Rescue Foster Proved Effective
An individual by the name of Hanan, who is part of the Furever Rescue Foster network, went above and beyond to assist Angelo in his fight for life. Not being deterred by the costly surgical procedure and its consequent extensive recovery process, she turned to social media seeking support.
A glimpse of the malnourished animal caught the attention of Justin Finning and his spouse, Deborah. Despite the great distance from their residence, they took up significant measures to provide aid.
Destiny United Justin, Deborah, and Angelo
Justin and Deborah’s rescue mission didn’t start with Angelo, the Great Dane.
Boasting three decades of history in rehabilitating and providing shelter to Great Danes with disabilities, the couple’s heartstrings tugged at the news of Angelo’s situation and they knew their contribution was pivotal to giving Angelo a new lease on life.
However, there was a barrier – Angelo was based overseas. Flight transportation was ruled out until after Angelo’s operation. The compassionate couple, joining forces with Hanan, initiated a fundraiser to generate the finances required for Angelo’s medical procedure.
In addition to surgical intervention, Angelo required physio and aqua therapies, along with a special diet formulation which was on the pricier side.
Thanks to their tireless efforts, the kind-hearted couple saw their mission yield success and Angelo finally received the much-needed attention.
With the surgery turning out successful, it was just a matter of time for Angelo to regain his agility before being flown to his permanent home. When the day came, Hanan shared on Facebook:
“At last Angelo got to go home and is now full of joy, savoring his life.

A Cheerful Boy in His Forever Residence
Justin and Deborah were determined to aid Angelo in his complete recovery, taking him regularly to therapy. After a few months, this stunning dog has indeed reached his maximum potential.
Gone are the days when he was a timid, introverted boy. Now, he is a vibrant Great Dane, relishing his position as the life of the party. He loves frolicking in his expansive backyard and accompanying his family to the beach!
His new companions at home are unquestionably the highlight of his new life. Living with three other dogs, he’s enjoying life at its best. We wish him a life filled with love, happiness, and thrilling experiences. He’s truly worthy of that!
