This story is so sad – because it always hurts to lose an animal family member.
But no matter how hard it is to let your beloved furry friend go, it is all the nicer to spend the last few hours with your four-legged friend and give them all the love they deserve.
This was also the case for the Kramer family, who had to let their beloved pit bull cross the Rainbow Bridge.
A faithful companion
When the family adopted the sweet pit bull called Libra, she was still a small puppy.
The dog loved her new family – but she loved her daughter April the most!
She was just eight years old at the time when she fell in love with the four-legged friend and the two became best friends.
Over time, Libra also got on more and more with the kitten Maxwell, with whom she loved to romp around for hours!
Slowly the problems began
Many years later, April had grown up – and Libra became her most trusted ally in the house!
However, after 15 years together with her sister April, the dog’s health deteriorated drastically.
At first, the pit bull lady had several severe seizures, which the family wanted to have checked out by the vet. The diagnosis that followed was a shock for them!
The vet discovered several lung tumors in Libra – after a detailed examination, it was clear that she didn’t have much time left.
A final gift
Daughter April was heartbroken when shelearned of her beloved pit bull’s terrible diagnosis.
But despite her grief, she decided to fulfill one last wish for Libra.
The dog was not to suffer for long, which is why she was soon to be euthanized – when the sick Libra’s bladder suddenly failed and she suffered unbearable pain as a result, the time had come.
The family knew that they now had to face the sad reality. To say thank you for all the wonderful years and endless love, daughter April gave her Libra a wonderful last gift.
She loved driving
For all those years, riding in the car was always the greatest thing for Libra – so April decided to roll down the window during the trip to the vet.
That way, Libra could do her favorite thing one last time. She seemed very relaxed for the entire 30 minutes and simply enjoyed the breeze blowing around her nose.
She had her eyes closed the whole time, as if her entire life was passing her by at that moment. Libra was infinitely grateful for her wonderful life with this wonderful family.
The photo moved everyone to tears
Finally the time had come and Libra made her way over the Rainbow Bridge – now her spirit was finally free of all the pain and unbearable suffering.
The photo of the dog gazing out of the window on her last journey went around the world in no time at all.
She loved the fresh air during the car ride so much – her family will miss her immensely, but she will always have a place in their hearts.
