We can all agree that seeing a dying puppy is never a pretty sight.
In fact, it’s one of the most heartbreaking things you can see. What makes it even worse is when no one is there to help the poor pup.

That’s exactly what cyclist Diane Lea encountered on a road.
Fortunately, Diane is a remarkable woman

Because when it comes to protecting the environment and its inhabitants, the founder of 50 Causes Ride will do just about anything.

One day she cycled through the desert of southern Arizona – in temperatures of 65 degrees Celsius!

And for the puppy, it was a last-minute rescue that Diane dared to go outside at all that day.
A ball of fur lies in the middle of the street

She almost ran over the little fur ball that had curled up in the middle of the road.
Diane immediately saw that the puppy was about to die in the sweltering heat. She didn’t hesitate for a second, stopped and picked the dog up.

She then took the little mouse back to her van and checked it for injuries.
Luckily, the van was equipped with everything she needed to give the dog first aid.
And that was initially water, which Diane and her colleague Liz gave the little furry friend.

For lack of a better place, she then put the little fellow in a bucket and fed him until he was no longer hungry.
A happy life instead of death by heat

The puppy is now doing wonderfully well again and has recovered from his near-death.
This is all thanks to Diane. We think there should be many more people like her who would drop everything for an animal in need.
