Fortunately, there are people who keep their eyes open and call for help immediately if they notice something unusual.
This was the case for a woman who discovered something shocking in an undeveloped area.
She immediately called the members of the neighborhood watch in Richards Bay
The woman described the situation she found and two watch captains then set off.
Sometimes the animal rescuers themselves can’t believe the absurd missions they are called out to.
But of course they have to follow up every tip, no matter how implausible it sounds.
When they arrived at the scene, all they found was a pile of rubble and plastic.
Unfortunately, this was not unusual, as garbage was occasionally dumped in the area.
But something completely different worried them
They couldn’t believe their eyes, but sure enough: two long legs and two frightened eyes were peering out of the rubble.
A small dog was stuck in the pile and needed help.
The team carefully began to free the poor dog from the plastic bag.
Very carefully, they placed him in the soft grass. He was able to move, but was still very weak.
They quickly gave Rocky, as the dog was later christened, a few ice cubes to suck on and waited for the staff from the Richards Bay SPCA to arrive.
Rocky was thoroughly examined
Once there, the veterinary team examined little Rocky and treated his head wound.
The dog was also severely malnourished and dehydrated. But with lots of tasty food and plenty of water, his condition improved quickly.
He soon began to shine again.
„We think Rocky is an incredibly sweet and outgoing dog,“
a representative of the Richards Bay SPCA told The Dodo.
What good care and lots of love can do is always fascinating.
„We were very amazed at how a dog that was dumped like garbage could love and trust again,“
said the representative.
A happy ending for Rocky
Today, cute Rocky lives with a loving family who adopted him.
There he can enjoy his life as a dog on a large farm, climb vast fields, be with other animals and, above all, receive lots of love.
