Unfortunately, not all dog owners realise that these furry friends need family contact and exercise.
Instead of being in a warm house and close to their family, the dogs of this type of owner have to eke out a sad existence in kennels.
Jakob has had to endure this difficult fate for five long years – his entire life to date. He was finally rescued by animal welfare organisations and is now looking for a loving home.
This is Jakob
Jakob is a five-year-old male dog and measures 50 centimetres at the shoulder. He is a Puli, a Hungarian shepherd dog.
Typical of this breed, he has a curly, very dense coat that can become floor-length without a visit to the hairdresser, but does not shed.
In his life so far, this sweet darling has suffered extremely from being locked up and from a lack of love.
Nevertheless, he still loves people more than anything and has a wonderfully good-natured character.
Being close to his family is the greatest thing for this adorable puppy. He is very cuddly and enjoys all the attention he can get.
But he also wants to go on great hikes in the countryside with his humans and use his clever mind on playful tasks.
He is already used to a lead and harness, so walking him is a pleasure.
Jakob has room in his big heart for all two-legged friends and also gets on very well with other cats.
He also passed the animal welfare organisation’s „cat test“ without any problems.
Jakob’s story
This beautiful boy comes from Hungary, where he was unfortunately not a family dog and was not allowed to do his proper job of herding sheep.
Instead, he was put in a small kennel, like something you don’t need is put in a drawer. Only his owner knows why she bought him.
Fortunately, animal welfare activists were able to convince her to give Jakob up. He is now waiting in a foster home for loving people who will give him a real home.
The ideal family for Jakob
Jakob would like to have a family that really loves him and will accept him fully into their circle.
He wants to be part of his humans‘ lives, cuddle a lot, be active together and, of course, live in the house, have a cosy bed and never be locked up again.
His luxuriant coat needs a certain amount of grooming and he should also be allowed regular visits to the hairdresser.
He hasn’t had much chance to learn the basics of dog training so far, so he would like his future family to train him sensitively and patiently with positive reinforcement.
